Dear Esteemed members of the Pakistan Society for Rheumatology and the respected delegates of PSR 2025.
As we approach our 28th annual meeting, I am delighted to reflect on the remarkable journey of our society since its inception in 1995. PSR has provided a dynamic platform for over 150+ rheumatologist dedicated to advancing education, research, and public awareness of rheumatic diseases in Pakistan.
PSR has been regularly holding annual conferences which have been very well attended by healthcare professionals featuring national and international faculty. It provides a forum for presenting local research, experience sharing, and networking. We are hoping to have this year’s conference with APLAR’s Patronage to enhance the scope of our conference.
I am pleased to share that the PSR members are actively involved in various special interest groups collaborating with colleagues across the region from the forum of APLAR and are contributing to patient registries, generating real-world data that is shaping the future of rheumatology research and practice.
Furthermore, our members including fellows in training are showcasing their research at National and International forums. Our collective efforts are making a difference in advancing the understanding and treatment of rheumatic disease in Pakistan and beyond.
It’s truly commendable that our Esteemed Members across Pakistan are organizing numerous Continuing Medical Education (CME) events focused on raising awareness about rheumatic disease amongst healthcare professionals. This conference is also a demonstration to our commitment to spreading knowledge and information about devastating rheumatic disease, contributing significantly to improving patient care and outcomes.
Furthermore, we are emphasizing raising public awareness and engaging key stakeholders in reshaping healthcare, specifically in the field of rheumatology, reflecting a proactive approach towards addressing the health care challenges faced by low and middle-income countries. By involving various stakeholders in discussions and initiatives, there is greater likelihood of driving positive changes and advancement in healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
As we gather for our annual meeting, I encourage all members to actively participate, share their knowledge and experience, and engage in fruitful discussions that will further elevate the standards of rheumatology care in our country. Together, we can continue to drive innovation, promote excellence, and improve the lives of the patients affected by rheumatic diseases.
My heartful gratitude to the whole organizing committee for putting together an excellent scientific program. I am also grateful to our industry partners for their unwavering support of the cause. I look forward to a successful annual meeting and to our continued collaboration in advancing the field of rheumatology.
